APIA, SAMOA – 04 AUGUST 2023: Tomorrow’s final game for the Pacific Championship series between Tonga’s Ikale Tahi and Manu Samoa is expected to be tough and physical as both teams are desperate for a win.
For Ikale Tahi they need a win as they have already lost two games while Manu Samoa has yet to win on their home ground.
Both coaches believe it will be physical and tough game.
“It will be a tough game and we are a little desperate as we lost two games,” said Ikale Tahi coach Toutai Kefu.
Manu Samoa has re-grouped after last week’s 33-19 loss to the Flying Fijians who commanded the first forty and kept Manu Samoa at bay to the end and coach Vaovasamanaia Seilala Mapusua is confident with the selected team to face Tonga tomorrow.
The two captains Michael Alalalatoa and Sinatane Tokolua.
Vaovasamanaia said he was disappointed with the team’s start in last week’s game but have since re-grouped and improved areas where the team’s performance failed.
“Tonga has a strong line up and we will go in with confidence,” he said.
Manu Samoa captain Michael Alalatoa is excited about the game and he too believes it will be a physical encounter.
Both coaches are focusing on the Rugby World Cup in France in two months’ time and are utilizing all opportunities to give their teams game time to prepare for the main event.
