After being denied the opportunity last year, patrons were finally treated to a proper Reggae Sumfest performance between soulful songbirds D’Yani and Jada Kingdom.
The two took to the stage at the Catherine's Hall Entertainment Complex on Saturday to deliver their hit song ‘Feelings’ at the event's 30th anniversary staging.
The pair were set to perform the song together at last year’s staging of the festival, but Kingdom announced she would not be attending sometime before the start of the show.
“With Jada Kingdom, you can’t expect nothing but greatness. She’s an amazing person, amazing individual, amazing artist as well so big up mumma heavy,” D'Yani told the STAR while recounting the moment.
Clad in an orange two-piece for Kingdom that left little to the imagination, and a Tribe Nine Studios original suit for D’Yani, the pair whined and raved for the crowd.
“Definitely something that is always worthwhile and memorable for me. Because obviously we got this from the universe, and this is our offering and seeing people reaction to it is nothing but mind blowing,” he said.
