Radio Jamaica News has been informed that a security guard was hospitalised with bullet wounds after a vehicle belonging to Atlas Security Company was attacked by gunmen in New Forest, Manchester.
The incident happened sometime after 6 o'clock Thursday evening.
It's reported that the security guards went to collect cash from various business establishments.
After collecting a sum of cash from a supermarket in New Forest, gunmen, believed to have been trailing the courier vehicle, opened fire on the unit.
One of the guards was shot in the head while the other escaped injury.
The gunmen sped away.
It is unclear if they made off with the cash.
Thursday's incident follows last month's multi-million dollar heist in which a team of Beryllium security guards was attacked and relieved of millions of dollars by armed robbers in Mandeville, Manchester.
Five pedestrians were shot and wounded when the gunmen fired indiscriminately in the town.
