Amos Lee, a 37-year-old fisherman who was allegedly caught with three kilogrammes of cocaine, is expected to file for bail when he appears in court on November 8.
His lawyer, Richard Lynch, told the St Catherine Parish Court that he intended to apply for bail today (Wednesday), but the judge said it couldn't be entertained due to a heavy roster.
Senior Parish Court judge Yvette Wenthworth-Miller therefore ordered the accused be further remanded until his next court day.
Lee is to answer charges of possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, using a motor vehicle for the conveyance of cocaine and attempting to export cocaine.
He was charged after detectives from the police's Narcotics Division allegedly caught him with the powdery substance during an operation in Portmore, St Catherine on October 17.
The drug was reportedly valued at US$150,000.
He was arrested for suspicion of breaches of the Dangerous Drug Act, and later charged during questioning in the presence of his lawyer.
