The management of PAC Kingston Airport Limited (PACKAL) has admitted that it is not satisfied with the quality of service being provided at Norman Manley International Airport.
Passengers have complained about the poor condition of the bathroom facilities and inadequate air conditioning.
Fernando Vistrain, the CEO of PACKAL, which operates the airport, said renovation of the bathroom facilities started last week. In relation to the air conditioning system, Mr. Vistrain said the system was damaged due to external factors.
"We are working hard to have that 100%.... We have four chillers. We're working only with two, and we're implementing mitigation actions. In the meantime, we can fix the main system," he said.
He said an assessment is being conducted for a full replacement of the air conditioning system, while the existing system should be repaired by the end of August.
