After eight rounds of fixtures the Championship table is really starting to take shape. Sinful Saints defence to be their downfall again.
Although not overly convincing, Southampton made a positive start to the new season going unbeaten in their opening four games winning three of them. Since then though they have lost four consecutive Championship fixtures and come into this game down in a lowly 15th.
The Saints’ defeat after taking the lead last weekend handed Middlesbrough a first success of the campaign. Two more goals were conceded making a league-high total of 19 now and leaves them still in search of their first clean sheet.
Leeds appear to be going in the right direction. Double title winner at this level Daniel Farke has led his team to an unbeaten run of six games. All built on a solid foundation of four successive clean sheets which makes the Whites the only team in England’s top four tiers yet to concede a goal in September.
When looking at the odds I agree with Leeds being the marginal favourite to be the winner of this one. The last head-to-head saw them run out 1-0 victors and I expect them to claim all three points again.

Joel continues to find the way to goal
Southampton have already conceded four goals in home games against both Norwich and Leicester as well as five when they visited Sunderland. Leeds arguably have the most potent of all those attacks and can exploit that on their visit to St. Mary’s.
Georginio Rutter is beginning to show why the Elland Road outfit broke their transfer record and spent £35.5m on him. He is forming a lethal partnership with the prolific Joel Piroe who already has four goals to his name in his first five appearances since signing from Swansea.
The 24-year-old Dutchman knows his way around the Championship after two seasons with the Swans and boasts very impressive stats. He hit the magic 20-goal mark in both campaigns in Wales and ended up with a record of 46 goals in 96 apperances.
Although favourite in the goal-scoring market Piroe is a must-add to my predictions. He should get plenty of chances against this error-strewn Southampton defence.

On-loan defender could be in for a sticky afternoon.
Crysencio Summerville has been an outstanding performer for Leeds in the early stages of the campaign. When looking to add a player to be carded to our tips it has to come from his area of the pitch.
Every fullback he has faced this term has been fearful and in a manager like Farke he has someone who will encourage him to run at retreating defences. However, this one may be worth waiting on team news for as it is not certain who will be up against the electric winger.
Mason Holgate started the defeat at Middlesbrough at right back. But he was taken off at half-time following a fairly torrid 45 minutes. He appeared to be targeted by Boro down his flank and if he starts again expect Leeds to do the same.
The on-loan Everton defender was carded three times in just eight appearances for the Toffees last term. He received 16 yellow and one red card in the two seasons prior to that.
If someone takes him out of the firing line here, then simply add whoever will replace him.
