He said: "All I know is that it was a drive-by shooting at a group of lads and it hit that glass door.
"It shot out one of the windows.
"The boys were standing outside and as soon as the shots were fired they ran."
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) do not believe that anyone was hurt.
A spokesperson for the force confirmed that the Qashqai has been recovered.
No arrests have been made.
"The offender was in a Nissan Qashqai which has since been recovered by police," a GMP spokesperson said.
The top of Wilmslow was sealed off by police for a number hours on Friday night while forensics and detectives examined the scene.
Officers from a Tactical Aid Unit (TAU) carried out a line search in a bid to find a bullet.
Last night, Detective Inspector Andrew Worthington said: "We appreciate this is shocking to hear for the local community and for passers-by in a particularly busy area of the city.
"We would like to reassure people that we will be remaining on the scene as our enquiries continue. If you have seen anything that may assist us with our investigation, please do get in touch by reporting it."
