John Bateman will make his return from injury this afternoon as Wigan Warriors take on Leigh Centurions at the DW Stadium.

The back-rower has been missing since he picked up an ankle injury playing for England against the Combined Nations All Stars in June.

He starts on the bench, while Kai Pearce-Paul, who has been in fine form since stepping into the line-up, keeps his place in the side.

There’s no Liam Marshall after he failed his HIA on Wednesday night at Warrington Wolves meaning Umyla Hanley comes onto the bench for the Cherry and Whites.

Joe Shorrocks starts at loose-forward, while Amir Bourouh keeps his spot on the bench and will look to add energy when he enters the fray.
