Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has already told Manchester United how they can convince Saul Niguez to move to Old Trafford - and it relates to his position on the pitch.
Saul, 26, has emerged a primary transfer target for the Red Devils as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to strengthen his midfield ahead of the fast-approaching season.
The Spaniard - who is also on Liverpool's radar - is said to be keen to move to the Premier League and his representatives will reportedly fly to the UK to negotiate a transfer on Monday.
United will be desparate to beat their rivals to Saul's signature - and Simeone has handed them crucial advice to do so.
The Argentine discussed his player at length during a wide-ranging interview with Spanish publication Diario AS in late July.
Simeone explained Saul is keen for a fresh challenge where he is given a playing role at the centre of the team in which he can dictate play.
"Last season he (Saul) spoke with the club, with us about his needs and what he spoke about was the option of having a position on the pitch where he feels more important," said Simeone.
"And I consider that Saul became Saul by playing everywhere, but he or many of those around him see it as something negative."
Simeone also praised Saul's versatility, which may be counting against him as he pushes to play solely as a central midfielder.
The Atletico boss added: "He (Saul) is very important for Atletico because he can play as a full-back, right-wing, midfielder. He gives us a lot of options to be able to count on him.
"He is a player who, in that version and playing how the coach needs him to, performs very well."
The United manager is believed to be planning on lining up his players in a 4-3-3 system next season rather than the 4-2-3-1 shape he has regularly utilised so far.
This could play into Saul's hands, as he is able to operate as a box-to-box midfielder or as a No. 6 in a deeper yet important role.

Meanwhile, Simeone also confirmed he would not stand in Saul's way as he looks to move away from the Wanda Metropolitano.
"We cannot put aside what is rumoured and talked about," he said.
"If he (Saul) has to leave, give him a big hug, wish him the best with the boys who gave us life and to continue being friends, as always. Either to Barcelona or elsewhere."
